The apprenticeship training is suitable for international seasonal workers, who already have a workplace in tourism.
Koulutuksen tavoite
Depending on your job position you can choose from two different orientations: Become a skilled Hospitality Expert learning to manage the customer service in an international working environment. Or become a talented Artist of Local food learning to prepare local food and beverages for international customers.
Hospitality Expert key focus areas:
- Special characteristics of the cultures of the Lapland region’s tourists
- In-depth customer service, product knowledge and service process of the service company
- Natural additional sales in customer service
- The most common phrases for expressing politeness and apologising in different languages (taking into account regional differences)
- Observing occupational and customer safety at work and assessing one’s own actions
- Working and interaction in an international work environment
- Using international competence and sharing it
Artist of Local food key focus areas:
- Preparing local food suitable for the operating environment and the season
- Packaging, transporting, displaying and serving local food and beverages
- Completing the requisite tasks following events
- Assessing one’s own competence and actions as a member of the work community
- Working and interaction in an international work environment
- Using international competence and sharing it
Toteutussuunnitelma
The scope of the vocational qualification unit is 30 competence points.
The Hospitality Expert training consists of two units:
- Hospitality in Lapland, 15 cp
- Working in an international work environment, 15 cp
The Artist of Local Food training consists of two units:
- Local food and culture of Lapland, 15 cp
- Working in an international work environment, 15 cp
Training program:
- The training begins as online studies starting on 21.10.2024
- Contact teaching takes place in Rovaniemi 11. - 15.11.2024
- Training and tests for Alcohol proficiency certificate and Hygiene proficiency certificate 7.- 8.11.2024 or 18. - 19.11.2024
- Apprenticeship training at the workplace located anywhere in Lapland starting on 20.11.2024
- Training will finish with a competence demonstration latest by 28.2.2025
Apprenticeship training requires a valid employment relationship during the training at a workplace in the field in tasks corresponding to the objectives of the training and a professionally qualified workplace supervisor. The training is free of charge.
