The annual FormNext exhibition, the world’s largest and most prestigious 3D-printing trade show, kicked off on November 17th, 2024, in Frankfurt, Germany.

This remarkable event brought together 34,400 visitors and 860 exhibitors from around the globe, showcasing cutting-edge technology across a sprawling 54,000 square meters. This year’s exhibition marked FormNext’s ninth anniversary and an exciting milestone: the debut of REDU’s capabilities and achievements on the international stage.

As part of the EU and ELY (Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment) -sponsored 3DTY project, the REDU team Maxim Narbrough, Jakob Haerting and Severi Salmirinne proudly participated in DIMECC’s Finnish Additive Manufacturing Ecosystem (FAME) “Finland Pavilion.” The joint stand aimed to position Finland and its companies as prominent players in the additive manufacturing sector. REDU, alongside the other 3DTY project partners, supplied the majority of the 3D-printed objects showcased at the pavilion, and these items quickly became standout attractions, earning widespread positive feedback.

The team’s designs included northern lights panels adorning the bar, custom wall panels for their stand, bar tables, stools, and smaller seating elements. Larger printed chairs were contributed by REDU’s 3DTY partner, Savonia. Their innovative creations captured the interest of established industry players such as La Máquina and CEAD. The latter even conducted an on-site interview with the team, highlighting their contributions at both the CEAD and 3DTY stands.

Feedback from attendees underscored the team’s success. One visitor’s comment about the bar tables and small stools summed it up perfectly: “Not to be rude, but this looks so much like a finished product that I don’t think people realize it is actually printed.” Such remarks reaffirmed the impact of REDU’s designs and innovation.

The REDU team is already looking ahead to Formnext 2025, with aspirations for an exciting collaboration with CEAD. Until then, see you next year!
