When processing personal data, we comply with valid data protection legislation. On this page, you will find information on how we process your personal data and how you can exercise your rights as a data subject.
The processing of personal data refers to all the measures by which we collect, transfer, store, use and possibly disclose your personal data.
The processing of personal data is regulated in the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and supplemented by the Finnish Data Protection Act.
Additional information on the processing of personal data is given by e.g. REDU's data protection officer and the Finnish Data Protection National Supervisory Authority, i.e. the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
Principles of personal data processing
When processing personal data, we comply with the following data protection principles of REDU:
- We comply with valid data protection legislation.
- We only process such personal data and to the extent that we have the right to do so by law, or the person (data subject) has given their consent, or which is necessary to implement the contract with the data subject.
- We respect the right to privacy of our customers, partners and staff. We process personal data responsibly and confidentially.
- We ensure data protection with secure information systems and services.
- As an educational organization, we also act as an example and model in data protection. Data protection is an important area of competence for our students, both as a general civic skill and as part of professional competence.
- We monitor, develop and improve operations, e.g. data protection in accordance with the principle of continuous improvement of the quality management system.

Privacy statements
We have prepared privacy statements for personal data processing operations. In the explanations, we describe in detail e.g. how we process your data, what data we process and for how long. In the statement, you can find the information of the manager responsible for processing and the contact person.

You, whose personal data we process, have the following data subject rights:
- The right to receive information about the processing of your personal data
- The right to access information
- The right to correct information
- The right to delete data and be forgotten
- The right to limit data processing
- The right to transfer data from one system to another
- The right to object to data processing
- The right not to be subject to automated decision-making.
