Three Hungarian aviation maintenance students, Anita, Szabina and Zita, completed an exchange training period at REDU in Rovaniemi, Finnish Lapland. The placement offered them diverse, hands-on experience both in their professional field and in a completely new cultural and environmental setting.

The students explain that their home institution in Hungary also has aircraft available for training. However, they found the equipment at REDU to be more versatile and realistic, enabling deeper insight into real-world maintenance tasks. They also praised the atmosphere at the school.

“The teachers are very helpful and supportive. Practical training takes place in smaller groups, which makes learning easier and allows for more individual guidance,” the students say.

In addition to professional development, the exchange period provided unforgettable experiences. Lapland’s winter and its unique northern charm made a strong impression on the visitors. They had the opportunity to see huskies and reindeer and even meet Santa Claus. Snow was a particular highlight, as they do not experience similar winter conditions in their home country.

According to Anita, Szabina and Zita, the exchange has been an eye-opening experience. Living and studying in a foreign country has strengthened not only their professional skills but also their independence and confidence.

They warmly recommend going abroad to anyone who is curious, open-minded and ready to live away from home for a period of time in a new and different environment.
